When our client moved to their new home, the garden they were greeted with was simply a lawn and a few some paving slabs. They wanted an outdoor space to enjoy with family and friends that heavily focused on hosting, food and drink.
They asked for a garden that would be unique and really wow their friends. One of the fundamental elements was to soften the garden, making it look less fenced in. It was also overlooked from neighbouring properties and therefore required some added privacy. Through using subtle methods to add privacy and intimacy to the garden, and not resorting to the generic idea of a pleached hedge on all of the gardens boundaries. We opted instead for planting and structure throughout the garden to successfully address this request.
As with most of our design consultations, we met with the clients in their garden to discuss ideas, their desires and the practical elements involved. Once our Design Director, Christopher Howkins, had a comprehensive understanding of the non-negotiable’s, he was ready to take the client on an exciting journey and out of their comfort zone.
With Christophers’ unique design flair and the technology used, we were able to show the client an accurate video render and concept imagery of their new garden, along with a comprehensive understanding of the chosen materials to be used, taking full advantage of our fully stocked showroom. All whilst enjoying a cup of tea.
A contemporary space with a stunning heated and lighted seating area under an aluminium pergola as the main focus. Beautiful and carefully selected planting and structures dressed all the key areas, allowing the client to have the privacy they desired. We installed an outdoor bar, taking full advantage of the previously un-used space left behind their garage.
