Our Brief

Our client had moved to a new home in a sleepy Buckinghamshire village. They had little to no idea of what they wanted, only that the new garden had to have a strong emphasis on an Italian theme, as one of them was Italian. It was important that they felt more at home in a foreign country, away from family and friends.

Our Approach

We met with the client in their garden, around 2 months after they had moved in. It became clear that like many new developments, there were some very awkward angles and spaces within the garden that would need addressing. There was a mixture of retaining walls, garage walls and fences around the boundary, all at different heights too. After a 1.5-hour consultation with the client, we were thrilled to work on such a special project.

Dreams to Reality

With a clear understanding of the clients’ brief, the team got to work. They presented the clients their design 2 weeks later. The technology we use, and the materials carefully selected we were able to show the client an accurate video of their new garden, along with a comprehensive understanding of the chosen materials to be used.

The garden had a strong, Italian theme, with an array of beautiful olive trees, scented lavender, strong shapes of the buxus balls, the sleek, yet rustic, finish of the corner render walling. We added modernity to the Italian theme, with luxurious porcelain paving and an aluminium pergola with mood lighting.

The Finished Project

A contemporary easy-care garden with seamless undertones of the elegance of Italy. The harsh and contrasting boundary lines softened with carefully selected planting, strategically placed structures and strongly shaped seating areas; this resulted in a haven for the client to relax in and have their very own private area of Italian peace.

A crisp, modern gazebo with mood lighting adds to this, allowing them to enjoy the garden all year round, coupled with the sounds of gently flowing water and soft warm lighting, highlighting key design elements of their garden.
